1. Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains how DiskShift handles information when you visit this website or use the DiskShift desktop application, submit a support request, or purchase a DiskShift license. In this policy, “DiskShift”, “we” and “us” refer to the DiskShift product and its operator.
2. Information we collect
Website and support information
When you contact support, we may receive your name, email address, platform, issue description, optional license key, and optional order reference. We use this information only to respond to you, investigate support issues, administer a license, and prevent abuse.
Payment information
Payments are processed by the payment provider shown at checkout, such as Razorpay. DiskShift does not ask you to send us your card number, UPI PIN, CVV, or online-banking credentials. We may receive payment status, order/payment identifiers, amount, currency, and limited transaction metadata needed to provide the license and support.
Desktop application information
DiskShift reads local file-system metadata to calculate sizes, folders, search results and cleanup suggestions. Scan results are kept locally while you use the app. DiskShift does not upload file contents, file names, folder structures or scan results to our servers.
Device and technical information
The desktop app may create a local device identifier to bind a license to one device. The website and hosting provider may process standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, requested URL and access time for security and delivery.
3. How we use information
- Provide downloads, licenses, support and requested features.
- Confirm payment and prevent duplicate or fraudulent activations.
- Respond to support requests and process refund or cancellation requests.
- Protect the website, payment flow, users and our services from misuse.
- Meet legal, accounting and payment-network obligations.
4. Sharing and service providers
We share information only when needed to provide the service, comply with law, or protect our rights. This can include our payment processor, hosting/database providers, email or support infrastructure, and professional advisers. Payment details are handled by the payment provider under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not sell personal information.
5. Security and retention
Support submissions are stored with access controls. Optional license keys are encrypted in the browser before they are sent to the support service; the support service stores the encrypted value and limited identifying information. We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for support, licensing, refunds, accounting, security and legal obligations, then delete or anonymize it where practical.
6. Your choices
You may ask us to access, correct or delete support information, subject to records we must retain for legal, payment or security reasons. You can also request that we stop using information for a support matter once it is resolved. Contact us using the details on our Contact & Support page.
7. Children and international visitors
DiskShift is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law. If you access the service from another country, your information may be processed in the countries where our service providers operate, with appropriate safeguards required by applicable law.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the product, law or payment process changes. The effective date at the top will change when an updated version is published. Material changes will be highlighted where appropriate.
9. Contact
For privacy questions, data requests, payment questions or support, use the Contact & Support page.
